Charley Hull Makes History as First British Golfer to Crack Top Three in World Rankings ποΈββοΈ
After her Saudi Ladies International win, the English star climbs to No. 3 in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings - the highest any UK golfer has ever reached! π¬π§π
Oh my goodness, ladies and gentlemen, we need to talk about Charley Hull! π₯
The English superstar absolutely crushed it at the PIF Saudi Ladies International on Saturday at Riyadh Golf Club, firing a stunning 65 in the final round to beat Casandra Alexander and Akie Iwai by one stroke. This marks her fifth career Ladies European Tour title in Saudi Arabia!
This was Hull's first LET victory since she won the individual portion of the Aramco Team Series in Riyadh back in 2024, and her first worldwide win since capturing her third LPGA Tour trophy at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G last September. π
But here is where things get really exciting, friends!
Hull entered the week ranked fifth in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings, already holding the distinction of being the highest-ranked English and British player in the 21-year history of the standings. She took that record from her good friend and major champion Georgia Hall when she moved to No. 5 after defeating Rolex Rankings No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul last fall in Maineville, Ohio.
And now? She has cracked the top three for the first time ever! π
Hull now sits at third in the standings alongside Thitikul at No. 1 and 16-time LPGA Tour winner Nelly Korda at No. 2. This is the highest any athlete from the United Kingdom has ever climbed in the Rolex Rankings!
To put this in perspective: she is three ranks above Hall's career-best sixth, four positions ahead of Scottish legend Catriona Matthew's seventh-place ranking, and five spots ahead of 22-year-old rising star Lottie Woad, who has already reached eighth despite only turning professional in July 2025. π
Hull has already made her 2026 LPGA Tour debut, finishing in a tie for 17th at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando, Florida. Her next scheduled start is the HSBC Women's World Championship in Singapore, where she tied for fourth last season with a four-round total of 7-under at Sentosa Golf Club's Tanjong Course. That is her career-best result in her seven previous starts at what is known as "Asia's Major."
The 2026 season marks Hull's 12th year as an LPGA Tour member. In addition to her three wins, she is a seven-time European Solheim Cup Team member, a three-time Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown participant, and a two-time Olympian representing Great Britain. She has amassed nearly $11 million in official earnings. π°
What a time to be a Charley Hull fan! Keep shining, queen! β¨π
